Friday is here and today seems like a good day for posting some favorites from the week so...these are a few of my favorite things (how many of you are now singing that little song in your head?!?)
ONE:
The fact that Lily thought seeing a "kitty cat" on the roof of a parked car during one of our walks was funny.
TWO:
These cups - they have a weight at the end of the straw so no matter how Lily turns the cup, she still gets milk.

THREE:
How Lily says bye-bye to everything: bye- bye Daddy, bye-bye Barney (when we turn Barney off of iPad), bye-bye books (when it's time to put them away), bye-bye park (when it's time to leave).
This is our best transition piece right now because when we aren't going to play with something anymore if we say bye-bye to it, that generally works.

FOUR:
Front porch time - These buddies hanging out on the front porch with each other while I was making some tortilla soup for dinner one evening.
Love these two!
And this one too!

FIVE:
That our bed is big enough to hold me, Michael, Lily, a 70 pound lab and a 24 pound terrier during storms the other night.
SIX:
How Lily was bending over sideways to comb her hair the other day because that's what she saw me do as I was drying my hair.
SEVEN:
We picked up some leaves one day on our walk and now Lily asks for leaves on every walk. She holds them in her hand, brings them into the house and then places them somewhere. The other day she put them in her farm for the animals to eat!
Everything is bigger in Texas - check out those leaves!
Oooh...can I keep this one too?
Checking out the goods
The sweetness and innocence in this picture - love it!
EIGHT:
Lily loves going to the parks around here. It's so fun to go back to parks we've visited before and see her try new things. Here she is going down this "slide" by herself. She was never interested in it before this week! She went several times before this and wanted to hold my hand as she came down. Then, I guess she figured she really didn't go fast at all and could handle it on her own. Way to go! I'm sure that will be an Olympic event someday, right?
What were some of your favorites this week? Enjoy the weekend!

Thank you so much for sharing. I check your blog every couple of days and it makes my heart so happy to hear stories, see pictures and videos and imagine what it's going to be like when we bring Lucas home. Y'all seem like you are adjusting so well and Lily is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I'm so glad you are following along. Before we went to get Lily, I read so many blogs just wondering what it would be like for us. No reading could've prepared us for the absolute joy and happiness we all have! Any update on Lucas as far as when you all will be going?
DeleteHoping to get our LSC any day now. We are shooting for mid June travel dates. We are all getting very antsy.
DeleteWow - that's not too far off now! At least it wont be cold when you go like it was when we were there. Enjoy the anticipation and excitement of the trip!
DeleteI love that you get to experience these moments. I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm so very thankful I get to experience all of this! :)
