Shanghai, Day 3

Today started off with the breakfast buffet here at the hotel.  There are 2 sides to the breakfast: one side with traditional Chinese breakfast fare and one side with traditional western foods. Breaking out of my comfort zone, I tried some from each side!
Yes, those are noodles and pork dumplings for breakfast.

We also had some tofu (fried in an egg roll type food) which was actually pretty good.  Of course my standard oatmeal was also enjoyed.  I didn't want to go overboard and forget my "regular" meals!

After breakfast we did a little hand washing of a few things.  There are not washing machines available at the hotel and to send things out here is quite pricey - $6 for one pair of underpants!  I think we could buy new for that.  So we made do with some Woolite, the sink and the clothesline that is in our bathroom.

We spent the rest of the day just hanging out and waiting for tomorrow.  Our last full day of waiting for the day to come. Talking and planning for what tomorrow may hold but for now we can only guess.  No naps for us today so we can try and sleep tonight. Our last night to sleep before meeting Lily and Lily's last night in the orphanage.

  1. Remember how it felt on Christmas Eve when we were children? I imagine it may feel like that x 10 for you two tonight. Sweet dreams!

  2. That's exactly the feeling! Great analogy - I wouldn't expect less from an English teacher. :)
