About 25 years ago, when my mom and dad started having grandkids, my mom bought a rocking horse to keep at her house for the grandkids to play on. I remember so vividly the rocking horse in their living room!
Many years after my mom passed away, my dad gave the rocking horse to my oldest sister. By this time, the grandkids were grown so there wasn't anyone to play on it any more. My sister had it at her house as decoration and a remembrance of our Mom.
A few days ago, a package arrived from my sister. Well, you can imagine my surprise when I opened up the box and inside was the rocking horse! I had absolutely no idea what it was but as soon as I opened it and and saw the bit of flowers painted on the wood, I knew exactly what was inside that box.
I dried my tears and gladly put it in our playroom to be ready for Lily.
So, Lily Grace now has a gift from her Grandmommy and I can't wait to share the story of the very special rocking horse with her one day.
I can't wait to see a picture with Lily sitting on the rocking horse!!
ReplyDeleteI always expected to share this happy time with your mom. Michael loved her so much and I never had a doubt that we, together, would be involved. I know that wonderful stories will be told to Lily about your mom and she will always know her special angel is watching over her. So still, together, we will care for our precious Lily.
