Lunchtime

When Lily had her surgery in May, we were all blessed to have such a wonderful surgeon.  From our first meeting, Michael and I liked Dr. Kane so much.

She reminded me of my sister Karen and reminded Michael of me!  So we thought that was a win, right?!?!?

During the stay in the hospital, Dr. Kane came by to check on Lily several times each day (even on her day off) and brought me a Mother's Day present as we were there on Mother's Day.  We ended up visiting with her for quite a while on these visits and grew to look forward to her visiting not only for information about Lily, but to see her as a friend of ours.

Between her schedule and Michael's it been tough to plan, but we finally met up for lunch with her the other day.

We certainly enjoyed our visit!  It's a surreal feeling talking with her knowing that she held Lily's heart in her hands.  How can you ever thank someone like that enough?  To see Lily enjoy being around her makes us all happy!

Thank you Dr. Kane for all you've done for Lily and for your friendship.  We look forward to more lunch dates in the future!
