A plane ride
Lily meeting new family
Beautiful cool, crisp weather
Zoo visit
Children's Museum
Band festivals
Pumpkin patch
Lily and I squeezed all of that into just a few days when we went to visit my brother and his family a couple of weeks ago in Nebraska! We had the best time and Lily let her little personality shine through.
My travel buddy...
Ready for the Children's Museum
Love this sweet girl!
I caught it!
Maybe I'll be a fireman
Or maybe a doctor
Evening walk to the park with cousins. It's nice that Lily has older cousins (Margaret and John) - they are so good at helping out with her and playing with her. Mommy gets a bit of a rest!
Fun day at the zoo with Joe and Margaret
Hugging (or squeezing) the goats
Quick nap after the zoo to recharge for the evening
All decked out to support Nebraska
Early band practice with Joe
Lily liked their uniforms and toys (instruments, whistle)! They were both so generous and good at letting Lily play around.
Meghan and Lily
Playing Jacob's baritone
The grass is always greener on the other side.
Lily loved playing with Bailey (John and Alysia's dog) until the "puppiness" came out and she bumped Lily down to give kisses and play.
Corn maze at the pumpkin patch
Wheee!
Loved playing with the big kids!
Playing with John's old cars from when he was little. Shadow liked being right there in the middle of the "town" while Holly napped nearby.
Last night at Joe and Beth's - worn out!
A quick snack before heading to the airport to go back home.
We were busy, busy, busy on our trip and we loved all of it! Lily loves being around family and kept us all entertained. She even "entertained" the people on our flight home during the last 10 minutes.
And by entertainment, I mean a HUGE meltdown. I'm not really sure what caused it (perhaps her ears, perhaps because I put the iPad away, perhaps she wanted to keep visiting family, or maybe because she's 2 and sometimes that's just what she feels like doing!) but wowee, it was a long 10 minutes. So my apologies to the rest of the passengers. Luckily, it was a small plane so we only "entertained" about 50 people.
I knew it was a good one when we were getting off the plane and as I picked Lily up the gentleman behind me offered to put my backpack on for me. He said, you just take care of her. The lady across from us told me we've all been there and there's just not much you can do. The flight attendant had handed me a huge handful of kleenex when it started and an extra cookie as we were leaving the plane. I wasn't sure if the cookie was for me or Lily - I think we both needed it! I had gate checked Lily's stroller so once we got off the plane, we waited inside for them to bring the cart with the bags and then we were to go back outside to retrieve our bag. As other passengers went back out to get their bags, I decided to wait until they were all finished. Lily was still upset at this point although not at the full, 100% upset. I was still trying to make sure I had my phone, Lily's headphones and all of our other goodies in my bag. The gate agent must have felt sorry for me as he asked if I was waiting on a stroller and then offered to go get it and bring it to me.
Thank you nice people out there for helping this Mama out!
