Six Month Update

Last Tuesday was six months.
Six months since our world was changed forever and definitely for the best!

Lily Grace Wilson has just fit into our lives so well.  This little girl brings such joy to all of our lives that I don't even know how to put that in words.

Had to show the back of this precious outfit!

Lily continues to do so great that we stay constantly amazed at what she's doing, saying, singing, playing, etc.  I try to jot things down to remember because I know from many of you, that these little things are the things I'll forget.

Riding along with Bert and Ernie

Here's some insight into Lily and what she's currently up to:

1.  Lily is so easy going as far as going and doing things.  She was fabulous on our recent trip (plane rides, different places to sleep, different food, new people)!  She's easy to take places like the store, out to eat and running errands.  We spent quite a bit of time at IKEA the other day and she  happily rode in the cart since it was fun having her Granny push and turn her.  It looked like so much fun that I contemplated getting in one myself.  Seriously, if  you've never used the carts at that store you are missing out!

2.  She no longer fusses about going to bed or brushing her teeth.  Lily has this routine down!  Now, I'm not saying she goes right to sleep at night, but it does seem to be getting better. We usually get in bed around 8 and she typically takes about 30 minutes to fall asleep.  She no longer wakes up through the night upset.  She will also get up in the mornings sometimes and come out to find me.

3.  Lily likes milk, and of course "cocolate milk" as she says!

4.  Lily has a play kitchen now and I think she's ready for her own cooking show!  It has all sorts of doors that open (oven, microwave, refrigerator, under the sink) and she's a master at putting pans, plates and cups all over the place.  She's quite imaginative and I love to see that side of her.

5.  She has enjoyed going to the Children's museum recently.  This is a loud, kind of free for all for little kids - I know how much I love her when I'm standing there among all the other mommies with a glazed look on my face.

Thankful for "rice playing" somewhere other than our kitchen

So many choices here

6.  When she wants held, she stands in front of me with arms up, and says "hold it".  I love to "hold it" when it comes to her!

7.  She likes to hold your hand and say "walking it" which means she wants to walk with you.

8.  This girl loves to swim.  She likes getting ready to go to the pool, likes swimming, likes to get out and have a snack, and then to go back and swim some more.  The pool we've been going to lately allows her to touch for almost all of it.  She's become much more comfortable in the water.  She'll lay down and put her hair in the water, chase a ball and just run around and have fun.  This past week she went down a little slide at the splash pad part of the pool by herself.  Slides have not always been her favorite these last 6 months so that's big.

Mommy, no more pictures...I just wanna swim

Lift me up, Mommy

Loves to play in the water

First time for Cheetos and yes, she loves them!  Just like her Mommy.

All cleaned up and ready to head home

Swimming makes for a tired girl

9.  One of her favorite things to do right now is run to us and let us scoop her up high into the air.  Then she says, "One more time".  Over and over again.  It's always one more time!

10.  Lily has now spent the night at her granny's twice.  Two times that she's spent the night away from us!  She loves it, as does her granny.  Us, well...it's pretty quiet around here when she's gone.  Both nights she's been gone we just decided to stay home.  We vegged out with TV and went to bed early.  Pretty exciting huh?!?!?  We decided next time she spends the night that we'll go out and do something.  Next time....maybe.

Ready to go!

I guess Gracie thought she may be going also!

Back to Normal

Back at home from vacation means back to normal for us around here.

My view the other morning - love this!

Our neighbors passed down this kitchen to us and somebody has been busy cooking!

Practicing with ABC's

The other day Michael worked on cleaning our driveway and Lily swam in the little pool.  We played while he worked - I think I got the better end of that deal!

Somebody had to try goggles on like Karen did in Virginia

Daddy working. Us playing!

Waiting for Daddy to finish moving the cars back to the driveway

A couple of days ago Lily went to her first birthday party!  She liked playing at the children's museum, watching people, and licking the icing off the cupcake.  Smart girl!

A balloon, candy and her Daddy make for a VERY happy little girl!

Vacation

We are back from a quick trip to the east coast!  I'll let the pictures tell this story of meeting family and seeing new places for a week.

The beginning of our trip...

Resting up on our way to the airport

A little love while at the airport

Just a little ipading on the plane

Ready to swim at Karen's

Yea, cousin time with Lori!

A little car ride to go see my Dad.  Somebody was pretty comfy!

Time to meet this guy for the first time - loved her some Grandaddy!

After bath snuggles with Grandaddy

Dippin Dots with Grandaddy at the zoo

Another new person and place...Great Aunt Alice!!

Breakfast time before we hit the beach

First time ever to walk barefoot in the sand

Loving the sand!

After an afternoon at the beach, these two were enjoying relaxing together.
I love that these two got to spend some time together!

Leaving the hotel by the "ocean".  Somebody wanted a little ride.

On the plane ride home.
Pretty taken with the cookie, iPad and airplane ride!

Learning how to lace for the first time

We loved our trip and Lily was so good the entire time.  That tells me, she's ready to start traveling.  A LOT!
Nothing better than waking up to this in the morining

Pictures

Maybe it's the heat but I haven't been taking the amount of pictures I usually do,  Yes, family members have reminded me of that and I'll start to do better soon.  By soon, I mean today!

Lily was in a "picture posing mood" the other morning so I did get a few...
Loves to look at flowers.
Actually, loves to pick them.
We're working on that.

Such a cute laugh!

We also practiced with these for an upcoming plane ride:
She loves them!

Lily spent the first day at her Bonny's and "Bobbert's" house the other day.  By "first day", I mean the first day ever without Mommy and Daddy!

Some swing time

She had a very busy day.  This was our ride home after we went to pick her up:
Playing at her Granny's makes her tired!

We also had a little visit by "Dabid" and Riley the other day.
Let me tell you, Lily LOVES her some Riley!
She only wanted Riley while they were here and stayed pretty much glued to her the whole time.

Loved laying with Riley watching some things on her phone

Riley was awesome with Lily.  She played with her, changed diapers, got her in and out of the car seat...I mean seriously, Riley where have you been?!?!?!?

In fact Riley had really been taking such good care of Lily and doing everything that it was funny when we all went out to eat.  When we got to the restaurant, I went straight to the restroom and had Michael order for me (it's a place where you go to the counter and order and then they bring you your food).  We all sat down and visited while we waited for our food.  When they delivered it, I noticed Lily didn't have anything.  I asked Michael what he ordered for her.  He laughed and said he guessed he was use to Riley taking care of her that he just ordered for us and not Lily. :)  Yes, we did go back and order some lunch.

Waking David up in the morning with all her toys on the bed

Thanks David for the new trick of wearing our purse as a hat.  It's now the newest fad!
