Changes

Nothing like a 2 year old to bring some changes to your life!  Let me tell you, this little girl is nonstop from the moment she wakes up.  Many, many changes just since being home a week.  Here we go...

1.  I am fast.  Fast at taking showers.  Fast at unloading the dishwasher.  Fast at putting laundry in. I've got to be because Lily will certainly be in to something by the time I'm done.  If I get up before her, I can get a lot done before she wakes up.

2.  My kitchen counters are no longer all cleaned off.  Now, instead of pretty decorations they look like this...
Yes, sunglasses belong there.  Right next to the sippy cups. Isn't that where everybody keeps their shades?

3.  I have a new back seat rider when I go out.

4.  My house is not cleaned or picked up.  It's messy.  The other day, my husband opened up his closet and there on the floor was a bottle someone left there and then closed the door.  I opened up a kitchen cabinet to get a container out and found some stickers in there.

5.  When I go shopping, I always have a shopping partner!
What Mommy lets her child sit in a parking lot in the stroller while she takes a picture?  I do.  No cars were moving.  Don't judge.

Let's try that pair over there too!  Geez, Mommy, I have two different shoes on!

6.  I actually do get a shower each day but the decision is...a shampoo or shave?  I said I'm fast but can't quite get both of those in at the same time.  It's a big decision I tell you. It often keeps me up at night just thinking about it.  Yes, my hair is usually clean but don't look at my legs!  I may be in trouble as our temperature gets to 80 this week.  May have to opt for dirty hair and a baseball hat.

7.  I now have to record any shows to watch because instead of TV watching at night, I get to do this.

8.  During the day, Gracie and Roxi aren't sleeping as much as they use to.
During Lily's nap, Gracie keeps guard over her toys and waits on her to wake up and play some more.

9.  When I go to the grocery store, I get to park here:
Yes, I've always wanted to park here and yesterday I did!

A little sucker for the first trip to the grocery store.  You say bribe, I say smart Mama!

10.  Instead of a teacher, I am now a master at building.  Perhaps my nephew, an architect, will appreciate the intricacies of this:

11.  Lastly, I now also have my own Statue of Liberty in my backyard.

Don't think for one second that I'm complaining about these major changes.  I'm just stating the facts.  Truth is, I absolutely love and enjoy each and every one of the changes.  Thank you Lily for making your Mommy and Daddy's life so full and exciting!

  1. I absolutely love the blog today! You are in full mommy mode now. I love it and I know you do too. So what if the house is mess...you will get used to it!
