Work, Work, Work

There's a lot to say about kids learning to help around the house with chores and such.  Growing up, I had chores (although my older siblings may disagree with me that I actually had to do them!) and I turned out pretty good.

So, Michael and I decided why not start early with Lily?  She's only two, doesn't speak our language yet, but certainly there are things she can do to help out around here.  Note:  no child labor laws were broken during these times! :)
Sweeping our driveway

Cleaning off the table...again!

Having her pull her own wagon during our walk instead of riding in it

Cleaning off her table while outside

Sometimes while you are cleaning, you just have to give hugs to Gracie

We hope this cleaning is a sign of how she'll keep her room when she's a teenager.  We can only wish!
Some people put their dish towels in the laundry when they finish cleaning, and some like to wear it on their head!  At least Lily doesn't have to follow the crowd and is up for being her ownself!

Five O'clock

One evening at 5 o'clock, this happened at our house:
Wine, apple juice and coffee

It's kind of like the Three Bears...
For me, one of the drinks was too hot, one was too cold and one was just right!

And, if I had too much of my drink, I may look like this:

So with those clues, can you figure out whose beverage is whose??

Movie Time

I finally played around with iMovie a bit the last few days and made a short movie with some of our favorites.

Turn your sound up and enjoy!

Climbing

We are glad to announce that Lily is like 100% other toddlers...she likes to climb! Luckily for right now, she'll take a step or two and then look back for help or reassurance.  Thankful for that right now, we know it may change and we could be looking at this soon...

For now, we'll take our cautious climber.
So many steps just to get to the top

Just one step  - easy for me!

These are different steps

Lily is like a little monkey - her feet and legs are always moving.  I guess that's what makes for good climbing.  The thing is, when she climbs, we do to.  So that makes for some sore legs for Mommy the next day!  But nonetheless, we go out climbing again.

I got this!

Hmmm....got to think about this

Like this, but now what?!?!

Sometimes while climbing you just have to stop to clean the bark off the steps

What's over on this side of the bench?

After a day of climbing, there's nothing better than a little rest at a table.
